Luke Mitchell

Luke Mitchell is a Senior Managing Director with more than 20 years of experience in strategy and operations in health and aged care. Luke is a former clinician and Chief Medical Imaging Technologist (‘MIT’) who has worked clinically, in management positions and in project delivery roles for a range of organisations in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Engaged as a trusted advisor by senior leaders in the Western Australian (‘WA’) and Australian Commonwealth health and aged care system, Luke has led high-risk strategic projects that have been critical for the health and well-being of Australian people.

As a former clinician working in large tertiary hospitals in Australia and the United Kingdom, Luke has combined his clinical experience to improve health operations, patient flow and hospital performance for clients.

Luke has been an advisor of choice to the WA Department of Health in reviewing, mobilising and delivering complex programs. He also has expertise in health infrastructure and commissioning and has led a variety of projects related to health technology from a program management, clinician adoption and change management perspective.

• Led major efficiency and productivity improvement programs in public and private healthcare, including capability-building and clinical leadership development
• Delivered clinical planning and commissioning for multiple hospital developments across diverse healthcare settings
• Provided strategic advice on digital health technology initiatives, including imaging, laboratory, medical records and virtual care solutions
• Played a leading role in shaping long-term health research strategy and supporting innovation funding governance
• Acted as a key advisor during the Covid-19 response, supporting system-wide planning, infection control, testing and supply chain resilience
