About Keith
Keith McGregor is an experienced turnaround expert with a global network of clients and co-advisors built from more than two decades of experience leading and delivering operational and financial restructurings in advisory, board, corporate and banking roles.
Keith assists organisations and their stakeholders in developing and implementing value preservation and creation strategies, from initial stabilisation, strategic options analysis, operational improvement, refinancing and financial restructuring.
Keith’s client base primarily comprises private capital investors and corporates. He has also advised bondholders, senior lenders and various governmental stakeholders in cases in the United States, the Europe, Middle East and Africa (‘EMEA’) region and Asia.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Keith was a Partner/Principal at Ernst & Young in New York. Preceding this role, he was based in London as Ernst & Young’s Capital Transformation Leader for EMEIA, leading the Restructuring, Lead Advisory/M&A, Operational Transaction Services and Valuations practices across the region.
Keith holds a B.Sc. from the Imperial College of Science & Technology at the University of London. He is a Chartered Accountant, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the International Insolvency Institute, an invitation-only membership of the most senior, experienced and respected restructuring practitioners, judges and academics.
Relevant Experience:
- Served as lead advisor to a U.S. buildings product manufacturer and distributor; included the development and implementation of performance improvement plans across the business
- Served as co-lead advisor to LATAM Airlines throughout its Chapter 11 restructuring; supported operational transformation centred on performance improvement and management of fleet profiling, refinancing and decision support around future fleet development
- Served as lead advisor to the board of a northern European national airline; included developing options for restoring profitability post-COVID-19 in the context of the closure of Russian airspace; airline established targeted and pre-COVID-19 earnings performance within 12 months
- Served as lead advisor to a junior creditor (and post-restructuring equity holder) of a U.S. online retail business in the northeast Tri-state area; included board observer position and independent assessment of operational recovery plans and associated financing following a poorly deployed implementation of automated pick and distribution systems; client exited both equity and residual debt positions on subsequent sale of business to a global food retailer
- Served as lead advisor to the board of a European offshore drilling company during and after carve-out from a European conglomerate; included developing and implementing a value creation plan that ensured standalone capabilities post-transaction
- Served as co-lead advisor to a Germany-headquartered global Tier 1 supplier of engine, transmission and chassis components; worked to minimise the underlying funding requirement and lead negotiations with lenders, establishing a stable environment for operational improvements and negotiating an appropriate long-term capital structure
- Served as Chief Restructuring Officer (‘CRO’) and interim Chief Financial Officer (‘CFO’) of a multinational infrastructure design and build construction company; led to stabilisation of cash flow and optimisation of the project portfolio
- Served as CRO of a UK-listed retail and wholesale grocery and food services group; wide-ranging role over three years encompassing strategy, commercial finance, corporate finance and treasury; included a more than $1 billion rescue refinancing before sale of the business in a take-private transaction
