About Glen
Glen Smith is a seasoned real estate practitioner with extensive experience in valuation, corporate real estate, asset management and transactional advisory. Glen possesses a diverse skill set, including identifying, analysing, strategising and executing repositioning projects.
Glen is proficient in real estate transaction advisory in all stages of the business cycle, most recently in stressed or distressed situations as well as in growth and repositioning roles. He possesses a firm understanding of the fundamentals of real estate and its legal and regulatory environments.
Glen’s experience enables him to identify real estate issues and address them effectively. He also ensures alignment among all parties by ‘speaking the same language’ as third-party property advisors, working toward the best possible outcome.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Glen worked on the distressed transactions team at PwC. Preceding this role, he was part of the asset management and acquisitions teams at FKP Property Group and spent time on the tenant advisory team at Urbis in Sydney. Additionally, Glen worked for BP in London on the integration of real estate assets on large-scale company acquisitions across Europe. He began his career as a valuer at Knight Frank in Adelaide, Australia.
Relevant Experience:
- Led the sale of a large and partially complete retail/residential development site in North West Sydney planned for 660 apartments
- Led the sale of multiple balance stock residential apartments in metropolitan Sydney
- Facilitated lease negotiations as part of the voluntary administrations of two large Australian logistic companies
- Led the disposal of a national five-asset portfolio of retirement villages (approximately 1000 units) in a market-facing significant structural change
- Facilitated the completion of 21 luxury North Shore Sydney apartments and sell-down
- Provided company-side advisory for four prominent retail lease portfolios; achieved repositioning and/or restructuring of their store networks
- Led the sell-down of more than 180 luxury apartments in the Gold Coast, in addition to the repositioning and sale of the retail centre component
- Led the sell-down of two large Mortgage Corporation property loan books in New South Wales and Queensland
