About Veeral
Veeral Gosalia is a global expert in the field of e-discovery, data preservation and computer forensics with more than 20 years of experience. Mr. Gosalia also serves as the head of the Asia Pacific region for FTI Technology. With extensive experience in investigations and computer forensics in high-stakes matters, he leads projects related to the forensic acquisition and examination of computers, mobile devices, cloud systems, e-mail, documents, numerous electronic communication applications and emerging data sources. He has collected and preserved several thousand computer images and coordinated seizure efforts in response to investigations and litigations across jurisdictions worldwide.
Mr. Gosalia assists lawyers and corporations in conducting white-collar crime investigations and complex litigations in matters involving anti-cartel, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, intellectual property theft and accounting and financial issues. He has testified in multiple high-profile domestic and international matters involving sealed Grand Jury cases, inter-country chain of custody and evidence management, and data handling and spoliation issues.
Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Gosalia was a consultant in the Dispute Consulting practice at Deloitte & Touche. There, he assisted the forensic accounting team with data transformation and analysis of structured and transactional data systems. Notably, he assisted with the development of a national practice technology infrastructure. Prior to that, he served as a computer consultant at Baruch Computing and Technology Center, where he diagnosed and repaired hardware, software and networking issues.
Mr. Gosalia is a frequent thought leader and contributor to industry publications and events, providing insight on topics including digital forensics, historical data restoration and data challenges.
Relevant Experience:
- Led a team in China to ensure forward progress for a high-stakes class action litigation; involved a widespread investigation spanning three countries with numerous global restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic
- Led the preservation, collection and analysis of several hundred digital evidence artifacts across numerous locations in Europe, Asia and North America, in relation to a whistleblower allegation
- Developed machine language translation workflows for an investigation involving a large, global healthcare client; included leading the processing and searching of terabytes of multi-language data from Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French, German and Portuguese documents
