Tim Anderson leads the Emerging Data Sources team at FTI Technology, specializing in digital forensics, data review and analysis, and the development of e-discovery systems. With more than 25 years of experience in legal technology and e-discovery, Mr. Anderson is a trusted advisor to clients navigating the complexities of modern cloud-based data sources in disputes and investigations. He has conducted investigations and collected evidence from platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack and other collaboration and emerging data systems.
Mr. Anderson is a seasoned e-discovery expert, programmer and application development manager. He excels in guiding clients to develop defensible strategies for identifying, preserving and analyzing modern cloud data sources, ensuring they remain litigation-ready in an ever-evolving digital landscape. By integrating advanced technology and strategic workflows, he helps organizations gain faster access to critical insights.
As one of the legal technology industry’s foremost experts in emerging data sources and cloud-based e-discovery, Mr. Anderson has spearheaded the development of cutting-edge solutions, including FTI Technology’s Connect and Universal Messaging Platform. These proprietary platforms enable rapid integration of modern cloud data into e-discovery workflows, supporting defensible and efficient processes for investigation, litigation and regulatory response. His innovations have redefined how organizations approach cloud data in e-discovery, empowering them to identify, process, review and produce information with greater speed and accuracy.
Before joining FTI Technology, Mr. Anderson was the data processing manager at Strategic Discovery, Inc., where he created and led a structured data analytics practice group and established a highly effective data processing team. Earlier in his career, he served as a litigation technology specialist at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where he leveraged technology to enhance the firm’s litigation support capabilities.
A frequent speaker on emerging data discovery topics, such as linked content and chat analysis, Mr. Anderson regularly contributes to leading industry events and publications. He is also a guest lecturer on e-discovery at University of California College of the Law, San Francisco and The USC Gould School of Law, and has authored numerous articles on e-discovery trends and strategies.
