About Nishi
As a financial economist, Dr. Nishi Sinha has extensive experience with complex financial, accounting and economic analyses and data analytics in litigation, regulatory and academic settings. Dr. Sinha developed her experience as a litigation economics consultant (FTI Consulting and Analysis Group), a regulator (the SEC) and as a research faculty member teaching M.B.A. and doctoral classes (New York University Stern School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University and Boston University).
As a consultant on numerous high-profile securities, accounting and tax cases, Dr. Sinha supported all phases of the litigation process, including discovery, expert reports, deposition and trial preparation. These matters covered a range of issues, including securities Class Action (10b-5), Section 13 and Section 16 violations, insider trading, shadow trading, spoofing and market manipulation, revenue recognition, deferred taxes, foreign tax credits, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) and special purpose acquisition company (“SPAC”) mergers, among others.
As a regulator, Dr. Sinha’s work supported the SEC’s enforcement efforts, including matters related to Rule 10b-5, FCPA, structured product markets, roundtrip and parking trades and insider trading.
As an academic, Dr. Sinha’s research was published in leading journals and presented at numerous conferences. It informed rule-makers at the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the SEC. Dr. Sinha has taught advanced M.B.A. classes on topics in financial economics, including financial reporting, cost accounting and corporate governance, and won numerous teaching awards. She has trained doctoral students in data analytics and research methods and Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) candidates in accounting and corporate governance.
