Jon Chan

Jon Chan leads the E-discovery Innovation team at FTI Technology, comprised of software engineers, data scientists and consultants who build customised solutions and integrations that connect e-discovery systems to solve complex data challenges. This global innovation team also leads the research, development and testing of artificial intelligence and generative AI solutions for e-discovery and investigations. Mr. Chan and his team were responsible for building IQ.AI by FTI Technology TM, an advanced suite of AI-driven offerings designed to address data-intensive challenges in legal and compliance matters across investigations, antitrust and data breach.

For more than a decade, Mr. Chan has worked across all areas of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (‘EDRM’), having orchestrated complex forensic collection exercises in dawn raid and public inquiry work, including UK public sector disputes and investigations. He designs data processing workflows and architects and manages reviews, using a full range of analytics tooling and organising teams of document reviewers to support clients.

Mr. Chan leads consulting and development teams in creating solutions to solve data-related challenges in contract management and due diligence, transaction review for sanctions compliance, trader surveillance, personally identifiable information identification and redaction, and fully managed e-discovery environments for law firms, government agencies and corporations. Mr. Chan is familiar with a broad range of technologies and is an innovator in combining off-the-shelf products with custom developed workflow and tooling to overcome complex unstructured and structured data problems.

Prior to FTI Technology, Mr. Chan was Chief Technology Officer (‘CTO’) at Anexsys, where he achieved double-digit growth for six years.

Relevant Experience:

• Led numerous multi-terabyte engagements to support construction, IT and class actions across the globe, setting up and delivering privacy reviews to support the exfiltration of data in numerous countries, most notably in China and Germany
• Deployed a proactive trader surveillance solution for compliance in a European bank
• Architected solutions consolidating structured and unstructured data for financial services clients, including sanctions transaction reviews and London Interbank Offered Rate (‘LIBOR’) communication reviews
