Dawn Hall

Dawn Hall is a Senior Managing Director in the Dispute Advisory Services (“DAS”) practice within the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment at FTI Consulting. Dawn is the leader of the Intellectual Property practice and is based in New York. She is a recognized expert in complex financial, accounting and damages-related matters and has been qualified as a damages expert in court.

Dawn has more than 25 years of experience specializing in financial consulting within the litigation and dispute resolution process. Her work has included disputes across many industries, with claims for breach of contract, trade secret misappropriation, patent infringement, trademark infringement, trade dress infringement, false advertising, copyright infringement and royalty compliance audits, among others. In addition, she has issued expert reports reflecting professional opinions related to these topics and has testified in depositions and at trial.

Dawn has assisted companies and counsel with complex analyses, including lost sales, lost profits, apportionment analyses, price erosion, reasonable royalty, unjust enrichment and prejudgment interest for both plaintiffs and defendants.

Dawn has been recognized as a leading expert in patent damages in the 2018-2023 editions of the IAM Patent 1000 — The World’s Leading Patent Professionals. Additionally, Dawn was awarded the 2017 Women Leaders in Consulting Future Service Award by Consulting Magazine and named to the 2019 Top 25 Leading Women Intrapreneurs & Corporate Leaders in New Jersey Monthly Magazine.

Dawn has a B.S. in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of the Licensing Executives Society and the American Bar Association, and regularly speaks on the topics of patent, trade secret and commercial economic damages at several professional organizations. She is also a member of the Sedona Conference's Patent Damages and Remedies and Trade Secrets Working Groups, as well as the New York City Bar Association (“NYCBA”) Trade Secrets Committee.
