David Rush specializes in financial advisory and corporate restructuring, with more than 25 years of experience. Mr. Rush has held numerous interim management roles, including Chief Restructuring Officer (“CRO”), Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) and Treasurer. His industry experience includes oil and gas, midstream, power, manufacturing, consumer and packaged goods, retail and financial services.
Mr. Rush’s experience includes development of business plans, cost reduction and liquidity enhancement initiatives and strategic alternatives. In addition, he has advised clients with M&A activities, debtor-in-possession (“DIP”) financings, covenant negotiations and contingency planning. Mr. Rush has represented private and public companies, lenders and creditor committees.
Mr. Rush has testified on various topics, including DIP financings, sales proceedings, liquidation analyses, cash collateral disputes, liquidity forecasts, contract rejections and wind down plans.
Mr. Rush received the Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award and the M&A Advisor’s 40 under 40 award. In addition, he has received numerous restructuring and M&A transaction related awards from the Turnaround Management Association, the M&A Advisor, the M&A Atlas Awards and the Association of Corporate Growth for work performed on Hostess Brands, Juniper GTL, ExGen Texas Power, B&G Crane Service, PetroQuest Energy, Halcón Resources, CARBO Ceramics, EP Energy, ION Geophysical and Ruby Pipeline.
Relevant Experience:
- Served as CRO of Ruby Pipeline, a 683-mile interstate natural gas pipeline owned by Kinder Morgan and Pembina Pipeline
- Served as CRO of EP Energy, a public independent exploration and production company that operated in the Eagle Ford Shale, Permian basin and Northeastern Utah with $5 billion of funded debt obligations
- Served as CRO of ExGen Texas Power, a subsidiary of Exelon Corp., and owner of five natural gas power plants with combined capacity over 3,300 MW
- Served as CRO of a natural gas-to-liquids company during its bankruptcy and sales process
- Served as the interim CFO of a Houston-based oil and gas equipment manufacturer and service provider
- Served as the CFO and Treasurer of Hostess Brands, a $2.5 billion wholesale bakery and packaged goods distributor; oversaw the Chapter 11 process and was responsible for developing liquidity forecasts, completing financing transactions, negotiating with stakeholders and assisting with numerous 363 asset sales
