David J. Woodward

David Woodward leads the automotive restructuring practice and specializes in providing services related to in- and out-of-court restructurings. Mr. Woodward has significant financial, operating and M&A experience. He has deep industry expertise in transportation, including automotive, automotive aftermarket and heavy truck.

Mr. Woodward is knowledgeable at investor and lender relations; creditor rights; acquisitions and divestitures; operational turnarounds; litigation; expert witness testimony; business valuations; customer agreements; business planning and budgeting; and treasury and multinational operations. He has also served in interim management positions, including chief restructuring officer (“CRO”) and chief financial officer (“CFO”).

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Woodward held senior positions at Ernst and Young Corporate Finance and Giuliani Capital Advisors in Troy, Michigan. He has extensive experience representing companies, lenders, unsecured creditors and various other stakeholders.

For more than 15 years, Mr. Woodward held various positions of increasing responsibility with the Talon Group, a private investment fund with interests in manufacturing, including transportation, retail and real estate. Prior to the Talon Group, Mr. Woodward held various audit positions with American Cyanamid Corporation and Union Carbide Corporation. Mr. Woodward started his career at KPMG, working as a senior auditor of private and SEC clients in the manufacturing, retail and service industries.

Mr. Woodward’s recent transportation engagements include APC Automotive Technologies, Cardone, Chassix, Citation Corp., Ecotality, Grede Foundries, Horizon Global, J.L French, Key Plastics, Toyota (Takata), Vari-form and others. Mr. Woodward routinely advises board of directors and served on the board of directors of J. L. French Automotive Castings, where he was a member of the Audit Committee, Environmental Compliance Committee and the Transaction Committee that managed the successful sale of the company. Mr. Woodward also served on the board of directors of APC Automotive Technologies, where he was chair of the Audit Committee.
