Daniel Wang

Daniel Wang brings more than 13 years of experience in digital forensics, e-discovery and cybersecurity. Mr. Wang is a computer and mobile forensics expert and a certified computer and mobile examiner. He specialises in forensic collection, analysis and expert reporting of digital evidence.

Mr. Wang is an expert in regulatory investigations across Southeast Asia, helping clients and fellow investigators harness artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to improve analysis and efficiency. Mr. Wang leads investigations into intellectual property theft, information leakage, bribery and corruption, regulatory violations and other forms of misconduct. He has provided testimony in High and State Court trials in Singapore, in line with police investigations.

With extensive experience across a wide range of sectors, Mr. Wang has worked with clients in construction, shipping, financial services, government, insurance, manufacturing, retail and healthcare.

Prior to FTI Technology, Mr. Wang held roles at a Big Four firm, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Technology Crime Forensic Branch (‘TCFB’) and a financial institution. He was involved in research and development on live forensics and reviewed workflow process at the TCFB.

Mr. Wang has co-authored a publication with CPA Australia and Singapore Management University’s School of Accountancy on digital forensics investigations.

Relevant Experience:

• Assisted a multinational corporation with responding to multiple government regulators following raids of the company’s offices; pioneered the use of predictive coding and advanced analytics in Asia to identify key documents to respond to regulators’ notices
• Advised an engineering company on evidence discovery in an investigation that arose following suspicion of collusion, conspiracy and data leakage from a group of top management joining a competitor
• Assisted a client with computer forensic procedures in response to suspicions of siphoning of businesses and setting up a new competitor company, with findings warranting an administrative protective order on the custodians’ business and residential premises
