Bertrand Troiano

Bertrand Troiano is an expert in strategic and deal advisory, financial restructuring, project finance and diligence on power, renewables and energy transition solutions. Mr. Troiano has extensive experience in financial restructuring and operational turnaround in complex and fast growth environments in multiple geographies. He is an expert at engaging with key stakeholders in complex situations, including governments and sovereign funds.

Mr. Troiano has more than 20 years of management and advisory experience. He works for companies, lenders and private equity sponsors across capital-intensive and cyclical industries: clean energy, mining and metals (smelting/refining), commodity trading, recycling, steel, automotive supply chain, sustainable mobility, clean building solutions, construction materials, specialty chemicals, semiconductor materials, mineral drilling and packaging.

Mr. Troiano is a specialist in transaction and financial restructuring advisory and has led engagements in project finance, transaction and strategic advisory and Chief Restructuring Officer (“CRO) and Chief Transformation Officer (“CTO”) roles, in addition to operational turnaround, market analyses, financial, operational and commercial diligence and company valuations. He has advised numerous corporations and investors on energy transition strategies and bespoke solutions, ranging from critical material sourcing to new capital investments for the decarbonization of heavy industries.

Mr. Troiano has led FTI Consulting’s engagements as financial and market advisor with the U.S. Department of Energy's Inflation Reduction Act (“IRA”), funding programs in critical mineral extraction and processing, advanced mobility, solar and geothermal generation, stationary storage, residential solar, distributed energy resources and major utility projects. He has also been engaged as a testifying expert in multiple litigations and international arbitration cases in Europe, Asia and North America.

Before joining FTI Consulting, he held senior roles at Rio Tinto and Alcan in business development, finance and operations, including Finance Director of Major Capital Projects, Business Unit Head of FP&A and Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) in the United States, Canada, Europe and China. He began his career at Total in financial analysis and business development. After this, he worked in corporate banking with BNP-Paribas in Japan, where he was responsible for the European clients’ portfolio, developing structured finance products.
