Ali Karami-Ruiz

Ali Karami-Ruiz is a Senior Managing Director and leads FTI Consulting’s Global Policy Risk Anticipation practice. Mr. Karami-Ruiz addresses critical issues stemming from government and stakeholder activity in international platforms that produce profound investment, regulatory and reputational implications.

Mr. Karami-Ruiz regularly advises general counsel, chief corporate affairs officers and chief strategy and risk officers on under-the-radar international threats and opportunities. His expertise helps clients in agri-food, business representation, consumer goods, energy, health, industrials, insurance, luxury and technology sectors engage in global processes that affect license-to-operate and policy stakes across local markets.

As a business spokesperson, Mr. Karami-Ruiz has defended complex industry interests in strategic deliberations with government officials from more than 50 countries at the Minister-level. As a seasoned corporate advocate, he has negotiated partnerships between the research-based biopharmaceutical industry and international non-governmental organisations (‘NGOs’), represented more than 10 industry sectors in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (‘OECD’), United Nations, G7 and international financial institutions processes that bring tangible changes across local markets, and brokered high-impact meetings for business executives at Business-20, G20 and OECD levels.

Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. Karami-Ruiz was a Senior Director and Member of the Executive Committee at BIAC, the business group that represents the private sector at the OECD. He also previously represented the pharmaceutical industry in Geneva-based global institutions.
